For those who do not grow in the U.S., the states of North or South Carolina, Virginia or Georgia or maybe, Carolina Beach Music takes some explanation.
Even a southerner like me, grew up in Alabama was not clear that something like music, beach Dean had little connection or similarity with the sound of California of the Beach Boys or Jan E.
Carolina Beach Music is not about surfing or drag racing. ThisDance in the Pavilion in Myrtle Beach sweep the sand with your favorite girl, hand in hand, watching the moon over the Atlantic surf as the harmonies of The Drifters, the Tams heat or drift over the dunes.
Now I need to stop and explain to the name of my English readers - that perhaps shocked citizens and residents of the United Kingdom - that "purpose" as this does not mean that what you are not used. Here is the shag dance, you do in this typemusic. Broom means doing the shag.
Carolina Beach Music dates back to 1950. The prime exponent of the style at that time was The Drifters. I have long known and loved the music of The Drifters - "Up on the Roof" is one of my all-time favorite songs - but I thought it was rock 'n' roll, or maybe R & B. It was not until North Carolina to learn moves that some people considered part of a genre apart.
This is music that is gentle, sweet, romantic and innocentRock 'n' Roll. It celebrates stealing kisses in the back row of the cinema and couples share a blanket in the shade of the promenade.
No wonder that today, Myrtle Beach clubs and theaters, the entire file exists only to present the music on the high seas, and they are doing a booming business. Undoubtedly, many of the fans, the flock is to regain a happy, uncomplicated youth spent cruising strips fucks and dance (dance broom) at night. ButCarolina Beach Music has a great appeal, and would not be surprising to see 20 - and 30-somethings find their way through doors of these clubs also.
